Exchange Traded Commodities

Until recently, investing in physical commodities such as silver would have been a time consuming and most likely a costly process. However the expansion in the range of Exchange Traded Commodities, or ETCs as they are commonly called in the Australian Market, is set to change this. Traditionally people have accessed commodities indirectly though buying shares in resource focussed companies; however investors can gain direct exposure to commodities by investing through an ETC. An ETC enables an investor to buy a component of the physical underlying asset. Jonathan Morgan explains how to invest in commodities through Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs).
